There is absolutely no reason to buy a "high performance" expensive digital cable unless you like flushing money down the toilet. You either get a valid digital signal or you don't. A $3 cable will work exactly the same. The whole reason electronics use digital is because any noise on the line doesn't affect signal quality. It amazes me that Monster Cable is able to rip off consumers with their talk of better quality digital signals. If you don't believe me, do some research online and find out what a scam this is.
Kudos, to Noel Lee, the head Monster and the entire Monster team. It was if I were wearing glasses. The picture quality at least when viewing Blu Ray DVD's is close to a 100% cleaner and clearer picture. It was nothing short of amazing. Aside from performance, these cable are aesthetically very attractive. This was totally unexpected.
Although, I would classify myself as fan of Monster products, I have no affiliation with this company whatsoever. I felt as if I were seeing what true Blu Ray looked like for the very first time: sharp, true to life colors, sharp contrasts and details. I am merely a consumer of quality electronic products that deliver A/V excellence and craftsmanship. Using my Belkin low priced HDMI I had come to the conclusion there wasn't really much diff between regular DVD's and Blu Ray DVD's.
Shop around. True, I saw no great improvement in running the TV alone as I had hoped, but then again the TV relies on Comcast co axial cable. After upgrading my speaker system with 2 astounding Monster 200 Monitor speakers which required the addition of a Onyko TX SR607 receiver, I decided a beginning home theatre upgrade would not be complete without the addition of Monster cables in spite of all the hype and propaganda that HDMI cables were all essentially the same. When I played the identical Blu Ray DVD today on my upgraded system which included 2 Monster 200 THX certified speakers, an Onkyo TX SR607 receiver along with 2 Monster M1000 4'length cables, the difference was nothing short of mind blowing. Today, I serendipitously popped in my only Blu Ray DVD that I have previously watched 3 times before on my old system that used the single low cost Belkin HDMI cable connecting the Samsung Blu Ray player to my Sony HDTV. Whatever technical innovations they have developed through years of laboratory research and testing, has paid off. But financially they were out of my reach.
Regular DVD's also seem fairly similar to prior. In fact, I cancelled my Netflix Blu Ray subscription, so dismal was the enhancement I experienced with Blu Ray. I wish Monster would somehow bring the price down for regular consumers like myself. She has no bias with HDMI cables or interest in them. Even in spite of what I now know.
Prior to upgrading my audio visual HDTV system, I bought into the anti-Monster propaganda that cheaper cables delivered the same or comparable performance as the more pricey Monster cable. A week after installing the Monster Cable M1000, the breakthrough came today unexpectedly. Sometimes you can find good deals from Amazon Marketplace or auction sites like eBay. They work. The only upgrade that would explain this enhanced performance are the 2 Monster M1000 cables I switched to to replace the inexpensive Belkin HDMI cable and the additional one I needed to hook up the Onkyo receiver. Had I not picked up these 2 Monster M1000 HDMI cables at ridiculously dirt cheap prices on eBay, there is no way I could have afforded the MSRP on this puppies. Her impressions were identical to mine.
Colors, and hues were definitely more brilliant and vivid. Hmmm.maybe my investment in Monster HDMI cables were merely aesthetic afterall. No way. I used an inexpensive Belkin HDMI cable to connect my Samsung Blu Ray player to my Sony 32" Bravia HDTV. If you can get your hands on one or two of these puppies, I do not think you will regret your purchase especially for Blu Ray as I have discovered. Finally, my HDTV and Samsung Blu Ray player were delivering the home theatre performance they were intended to render.
Have a Monster Day. Until you at least try these cables you may never know for certain what level of performance your home theatre or electronic components are capable of cranking out. For 2 years I satisfied myself that had not wasted any additional money on the hyped up Monster cable. Seeing is believing. Someone can analyze these cables all they want and compare them to the cheaper HDMI cables, but at the end of day, Monster M1000 Cable delivers.
Although, these are great cables, they ain't cheap and therein lies the rub. I am totally stoked about my acquisition of these new Monster HDMI M1000 cable upgrades.
I will have to start watching more Blu Ray DVD movies again to gain this appreciation of enhanced performance. They do look sharp.
I must add as a side note, the THX certified Monster 200 Monitor speakers are totally awesome too. To give myself a reality check, I ushered in my wife to get her opinion.
With regular DVD's, it is alittle more difficult to see a large variation in performance from before. I am glad I put them to the test rather than taking all the negative comments I read on Amazon as gospel.
These cables have a life time warranty for the initial owner.
It also quotes industry expert Joe Kane. Don't buy into the hype the sales people at Big Box stores or Monster feeds you. His advice: "Cheap cables that cost 75 cents per foot work as well as those that cost $100 per foot," said Mr. Folks, there is no need to spend this over inflated price on an HDMI cable. There is an article in NY Times on June 10, 2009 about how to tweak your HDTV to make it perform at its best. The article specifically advises readers not to be tempted to spend too much on cables. Kane. "With the latest HDMI cables, if you see a picture and hear the sound, you know it works."
There is absolutely no reason to purchase this cable from Monster. At least do your research before you drop $200 on a cable. As Engadget has pointed out time and time again, Monster uses hype and dirty tricks to get you to buy their cables. I would suggest that you go with the anything other than Monster. In most cases the extra $200 could be used to get yourself better equipment. These guys are so bad, they sued a miniature golf outlet named "Monster Golf" for trademark infringement.
